Spring Break - A is for Albuquerque
Spring break! Just because we didn’t have Story Sessions in the classroom, doesn’t mean we didn’t haven’t literacy-based fun. My mom, my sister and her family, and our family all converged in Albuquerque to visit my grandparents. Leona and I had a mission for the week - to find and take photos of something in Albuquerque for each letter of the alphabet. Then we turned those photos into a memory book.

Leona had a blast brainstorming what to add, posing for photos, and loves looking through the final book. We had to get creative for some of the letters, but that’s part of the fun! We even learned some new vocabulary along the way - hello, “yucca” and “xeriscape”.
Mixbook makes this kind of project easy to implement. I basically put the book together at the end of each day for the letters/pictures we found that day and then wrapped up the work on the plane home. Copies were a sweet gift to send to my mom, sister and grandparents. Mixbook also has screaming deals all. the. time. so check for coupons before you order.
